    What sports taught Sahil Vora: Humility, perseverance and staying passionate

    The SILA boss said playing sports taught him many lessons that he now applies to work.

    Sahil Vora, Founder of SILA, who played squash for India between 2000 to 2002 has learnt a lot from the game which he applies to business.

    As a sportsman, Vora says he learned to think on his feet and adapt quickly in changing business scenarios. He also says, he learned to overcome adversity and failure from the game.

    Vora was the captain of Trinity College Men's Squash team in the United States. He was recruited to play for the team between 2004 – 2007. Trinity College has the longest winning streak in collegiate sport history during that time, the team had not lost a single match for over 13 years.

    Vora also plays cricket for Bombay Gymkhana and recreational golf now to destress.

    "Being the captain of a squash team prepared me to build the best team and find ways for everyone to play to their strengths. Sports taught me to bring passion to all my projects and remain humble no matter what," he said.

    The real estate advisory business founder was also a member of the World Juniors Team that finished fifth in the team event, which was the highest ranking by any Indian team at an International Squash event.

    "The major learning from squash has been grit, learning how to win and lose and dealing with pressure," he added.
